Nickel trading range for the day is 856.5-883.5. Nickel prices dropped as concerns about proposed U.S. trade tariffs weighed on prices. China will cut 30 million mt of steel capacity and 150 million mt of coal capacity in 2018.

Nickel ore inventory at Chinese ports dropped to 7.15 million wmt.
