EPIC RESEARCH MCX Nickel UPDATE OF 3 January 2019

Nickel trading range for the day is 727.8-776.4.

* Nickel gained amid signs of progress in the Sino-U.S. trade standoff provided a rare glint of optimism in what has been a disappointing year for equities.

* China imported 28,400 mt of nickel unwrought, not alloyed in November, up 21.8% month on month and 9.4% year on year.

* The Chinese National Bureau of Statistics said that the official manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) came in at 49.4.
