Gold trading range for the day is 30059-30655. Gold pared gains after advancing above $1,300 on speculation central banks in the U.S. to Europe will maintain low interest rates, spurring demand for the metal.
Worries over Japanese policymakers' inability to stem the yen's rise had pushed the dollar to an 18-month low early on Monday, supporting gold's rise above $1,300.
SPDR gold trust holdings gained by 2.59% i.e. 20.80 tonnes to 824.94 tonnes from 804.14 tonnes.
